Forget You by Jennifer Echols
Wow is all I can say!! I love this story so much! I loved the characters I truly hope the author keeps writing about all of these characters (even Brandon) I would love to read something from Doug's point of view!!! The twins was super annoying but then again the book wouldn't be the same without them! I would love to see more about her mom and the sheriff!!!! One thing I HAVE to know is about the college scholarships it was brought up so much during the book I'm like totally invested!

Forget You Jennifer Echols Books Reviews

Jennifer Echols is one of my favorite authors that came out of the Simon Pulse romantic comedy series. I have been looking forward to getting a copy of this book and I definitely didn't regret the purchase.

The main character Zoey is struggling with her home life. Her mom and her dad recently separated and her mom is struggling with the situation. Zoey is trying to hold everyone together but quickly learns that she can't. She makes some bad romantic choices while trying to deal with her life. Meanwhile, Doug has been in love with her since he asked her to the middle school homecoming and he is trying to reach out to her despite her current choice of boyfriend. Zoey gets into a car accident and can't remember anything from that night especially what led up to Doug rescuing her from the vehicle and feeling comfortable enough to act like a couple in the ER. During the book she tries to piece together her heart and her memories.

I like the realistic nature of this book. Doug and Zoey are complicated characters and all of the relationships are complicated. Zoey is strong and yet shows a weakness and vulnerability much the average teenager. Their concepts of love are lofty idealistic ones. The dialogue is true to the age group. There is not undying love speeches or any soliloquies about needing the other to live a full life. I think that sets Echols apart from a lot of YA authors. She doesn't idealize love or sex in her story. It is realistic and raw. I think this is a great read for most of the older YA readers out there. Additionally, even without the paranormal aspect the story itself is enough to keep readers interested. I give the book a 5 out of 5.

I'm not sure if this book purposely meant to make me feel just as disoriented as Zoe after she lost her memory of the previous night, but it did a little. I felt like I was also wading through everything, trying to put things together from practically nothing. Obviously I know as much as Zoe does, since it's told from her POV. It was definitely an interesting experience, but I have to say, I enjoyed going through this experience with her.

There's one thing I enjoyed more though...and that was Doug. I know, you're shocked! P Again, thanks to Zoe, I was SO confused as to how things got the way they did with Doug. I mean, before the crash she kept bringing up how they hated each other, then after the crash and memory loss, he loved her! What in the world could have happened in one night?!?! Don't worry, it's all explained and it all makes sense the more you read, and by the end it'll be crystal clear. In the meantime though, you'll begin to fall for this sensitive, attractive, sarcastic guy. His honorable intentions made him so endearing! I'd also like to point out just how steamy this book is...smokin'! Certainly for a more mature young adult audience.

Now, Brandon. Ugh. I did not find his ways cute whatsoever. I wanted to kick his ass! I'm glad that relationship didn't drag out for longer than it did, or I would have been pissed! He was an ass. Plain and simple. Another ass? Or rather, asses the dads! Zoe's and Doug's dads were horrible, each in their own respective ways. I really disliked them. Reallllly.

I loved the beach scenes in this book, mostly because I love parties at the beach, especially ones at night. Darkness, waves, friends, music, beer = awesome. It definitely made me yearn for the beach.

Forgot You is sure to leave an unforgettable notch on my bookshelf. This is only my second Jennifer Echols book, but just like Going Too Far, it had me from the first chapter. And just like Going Too Far, Forget You also got me out of my reading slump. I dare say I see a trend here, one I can appreciate.
I’ve heard a lot of people love this book which is why I decided on picking it up! I’ve have quite different feelings from those people. While I highly enjoyed the book and found it very entertaining. I didn’t love it. The beginning was great. It reeled me in easily but also turned me off fast! I have a few complaints about the writing, characters, and etc..

The pace of the book is completely stationary. There wasn’t a high or low of the book, yes there were bits that were more interesting than the others but that’s it. Nothing really exciting. I found myself WANTING to finish the book.

The writing.. It’s really different from other books I’ve read. Echols doesn’t visualize it for you, she just tells you. The book isn’t as descriptive and detailed as I think it should be. And it could have been great if it was!

Now for our main character Zoey.. She’s not that great of a character, extremely simple with bad things happening for her. I believe the whole book was a span of about two weeks? The girl has a busy life. And the way she just gave away certain things like they were candy and isn’t important really annoys me. Actions really tell you what type of person someone is and boy do I know who she is..

I enjoyed Doug's character the most out of everyone in the books. I think a lot of the characters were lacking. I found a lot of them to be annoying, rude, or just plain clueless and insensitive. The book wasn’t unbearable. It was entertaining, I liked it to a certain extent. I will definitely try more of her books.
